Sorry to nitpick, but...

signup.php is just an iframe with a page from Google Spreadsheets embedded. Are we really too lazy to using an SQL database, or is there some other reason that makes google spreadsheets necessary? The main thing I'm complaining about is the fact that it has a white background - looks very silly.

And also - what version of phpBB does the forum use? According to this (which I shouldn't be able to access in the first place) it's just 2.0.11... Any reason for not upgrading to 3?

Finally, do you think I should bother trying to make another theme for the website? Does anybody actually use the themes, or would it jsut sit there in the corner unnoticed?

I'm not great at designing, especially doing css for an already-designed html page... Plus the code for the main page is... well... silly and inconsistent.

I've just created something which amuses me, but is a reference to something that I doubt many people would understand. I'll probably implement it for myself in greasemonkey, but nobody else would use it.

I gotta say though, after looking at the main page's code, it looks like it should be rewritten at some stage. It wouldn't take up too much time, wouldn't have to change the look, and could make the site a lot easier to work with in the long run...
I think I'll run for webmin next year...

The primary reason is that the member list was already in google docs, so it was a quick and dirty solution.

Okay that makes sense.

In which case, someone should change the background colour! It looks muchly unprofessional.

I looked this up, it's not too difficult to do.

Just copy and paste the code from the form (http://spreadsheets.google.com/embeddedform?key=0AqBS8N0NiaMYcGlMMVppUnZhUFJpZDhab2NSQ0k4T2c) into the main Circusoc site. If you set the theme to be Plain first, then you don't even need to edit anything. While you're there, I recommend changing the layout of the skills-related questions to a table.

Unfortunately the "form accepted " window is still pretty ugly this way, but this is certainly better than nothing.

I've also been testing out integrating sites with phpBB, so you can logon from the main site, and access other non-forum members-only information. This is pretty easy to do, so I highly recommend it. Else, I'll be running for webmaster next year and will fix it myself if I get in.
